College project to make 2 images inspired by a famous image. The 2 illustrations had to take place before and after the source image. I was given the image The Tube Station by Cyril E. Power (1932). I made one poster advertising the London Underground during the 1920s and another during wartime (Get To Shelter By Underground) to show the contrast between these periods.
I did a bunch of research on 1920s posters and fashion illustrations for this image, which was really interesting for me.

I made one poster advertising the London Underground during the 1920s (Get To The Sales By Underground) and another during the wartime to show the contrast between these periods. I looked at a lot of Henry Moore's drawings of the underground being used as a bomb shelter, which helped to inspire this piece.
college brief to create a series of posters promoting a museum to the target audience of teens and young adults. the posters had to work both together and individually, you can see how they work together here: Natural History Museum Posters
i chose to advertise the Natural History Museum in london which i found really fascinating. some of the stuff there is mind-blowing and there's so much to see.
For my cafe branding project. We had to design a logo, menu, signage and one other thing (I chose to design the van and this papercraft scene) My idea was a food truck for the homeless but when my tutor saw my initial designs, he said they looked a little too commercial and it would be interesting to take it in a satirical direction.
I ended up using my project to make a statement about how people and companies often help the homeless during Christmas but sweep them under the rug the rest of the year. Many companies do the bare minimum to keep up a charitable image - the food truck represents this temporary mindset (because it can drive off, it is not permanent), which is often not about making a difference but making themselves look good, hence all the angelic imagery here.
I find it hard to explain my ideas sometimes, I hope that makes some kind of sense. :')
